This is Paige The-Problem-Slayer Davidson. She spent 15 years as an educator, teaching young earthlings that the capital of Mozambique is not in fact, “M,” and that chalk is not edible (well at least not technically).
She joined Get SACE in 2017. It had been 5 years since the official implementation of the Continuing Professional Teacher Development (CPTD) system in South Africa and teachers needed help navigating a tricky institutional and administrative landscape.
Equipped with a laptop and a list of schools and colleges who needed help, Paige jumped right in and started creating tailor-made professional development programmes for teachers. It was the start of something really special.
Today, Get SACE assists schools and educators with everything they need to become SACE and CPTD compliant. Paige holds a Bachelor of Education in Intermediate and Senior Phase education from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). As a former teacher, she brings a unique perspective to her position at Get SACE and a deep appreciation for the role that educators play in shaping lives and building futures.
When she’s not at her desk, typing away like it’s an Olympic sport, you’ll find her on the beach with her dogs, Spud and Diesel or stand-up paddle boarding in the ocean. Running and socialising are also on her weekend to-do list, as well as dinner parties with friends.
Her message to all teachers is: “I salute all South African educators for their dedication, hard work and commitment. I know some days are hard, but you always push through no matter what. You are the most important part of a learner’s life. Remember that you are making a difference every day, so keep going.”
